Houston, Texas: April 19, 2007
Texas-born competitive race car driver and National Breast Cancer Foundation spokesperson Lindsey Adams recently visited the Nellie B. Connally Breast Center at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Lindsey commented:
"M.D. Anderson is one of the most amazing serving communities. I am so excited to be working with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and it is such a blessing that they have a strong partnership with M. D. Anderson."
Lindsey and her mother, Debbie (a breast cancer survivor), were invited to visit the institution and tour the breast center with Banu K. Arun, M.D., associate professor in the Department of Breast Medical Oncology, and her team for a firsthand look at what an M. D. Anderson patient’s journey is like, from waiting room to exam room.
Lindsey commented:
"What is most obvious to me is that M. D. Anderson’s entire operation is centered on the patient as the priority. I cannot imagine a better place for anyone faced with the battle of fighting breast cancer to receive treatment than at M. D. Anderson. The oncologists, genetic researchers, surgeons, radiologists and all other staff of M. D. Anderson truly make an effort and succeed at working as a team."
