Lindsey participates in Super Cup Young Gun Roundup

Newport, Tennessee (July 11, 2008): The Super Cup Stock Car Series was founded in 2007 with the help of SCSCS Director of competition, Joe Schmaling. The series features steel bodied stock cars that competed from 2001-2006 in Hooters ProCup. During this season the Super Cup Series has developed into a well represented stock car series where young drivers are welcome to learn and grow into professionals. As being a series that prides its self on its young and gifted drivers, Super Cup held a driver search in order to look for an upcoming talent. Lindsey Adams, (Richardson, Texas), was invited along with six others to come and compete for the title.

The day involved testing for the drivers and technical conversation with the judges. The judges consisted of NASCAR veteran: Bosco Lowe, Super Cup car owner/driver: Mike Williams, Super Cup Crew Chief: Barry Lowe, Super Cup Official: Tom Pitts, Newport Speedway manager/car owner: Ron Crane, and Competition Director of the Super Cup Series: Joe Schmaling.

Lindsey was the only driver present who had no experience behind the wheel of a stock car, although, her time in Legends cars gave her confidence and she proved to adapt quickly.

“Racing Legend cars is a great tool for developing a drivers oval track skills. We must remember that Lindsey has only been racing ovals for short time, less than eight months. Most of the drivers present had a great deal more experience in full size stock cars, however Lindsey’s performance in setting the third fastest time and being the only driver to improve her lap times showed race officials the ability Lindsey has behind the wheel of a stock car. We couldn’t have been more proud,” commented Don Nugent of Trinity Marketing and Development.

Adams did not win the Young Gun Roundup due to lack of seat time in a full bodied car, but she will continue forward with a test in an ASA Late Model with LV Enterprises.

Katy Trail 5k 05.19.2009
Last Thursday my friend, Leah, and I ran in the Katy Trail 5k. The Katy Trail is a privately maintained public park in uptown Dallas. The marathon was the annual event used to raise money for the Friends of the Katy Trail, the nonprofit organization that is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Katy Trail. Leah and I, along with about 5,000 others ran to support the Katy Trail and have fun in our community! I was thrilled to be participating in the event and loved getting to see how my community came together to support our gorgeous public park. The 5K, memberships of the Katy Trail, and the local support of our restaurants and businesses have helped raise more than $20 million, naming the Katy Trail one of the great American public parks. Thank you to those who sponsored the event and to everyone who ran/walked in the race. Looking forward to seeing you all next year! ... full entry
