LORIE LORD... A TRUE SURVIVOR
Posted by: on 04/24/2008 at 7:33 a.m.
Last October I got the opportunity to drive a Radical SR-4 for Stars and Stripes Motorsports. The race was in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and my mom had gotten wind that a survivor up there, named Lorie Lord, had been fighting against breast cancer, working hard to raise awareness, and in the process had become a real influence in her local area. Little did we know, Lorie, was the niece of one of my mother’s best, longtime friends. We gave her a call and she was out at the track a week later riding in the race car with me and having a blast. We inducted her into Survivors’ Circle and had the privilege of meeting her beautiful family. She was the strongest and most empowering woman I have met so far along my journey. Lorie shared her witness with me and showed me the kind of love a certain stranger is almost impossible of doing. She touched my heart and last Thursday morning left this world and all of her suffering behind. I know in the deepest places of my soul that Lorie is, no doubt, in Heaven. I feel blessed beyond imagination to have known Lorie, and her story, and have it be a part of my life.

MOVING UP TO PRO
Posted by: on 03/16/2008 at 9:10 a.m.
I’ve been racing in the legends car series over the winter to get ready for a full sized car. They just recently moved me up to the pro division which has been a great experience. I feel honored to be racing against drivers who have been driving Legends cars and winning races for years. This is going to be a great experience for me to race with the best and learn from the best.

MY BIRTHDAY... 21
Posted by: on 01/27/2008 at 11:19 a.m.
My birthday was a total blast! My mom surprised me with a kick-butt cake (look at the photos on the media page, it’s there), I won my first legends car race, flew to Houston to hang out with my sister, and we went to see the musical, Jersey Boys! (Yeah, we were the youngest people in there, but it was awesome.) It was a fantastic birthday!

100 YOUNG AMERICANS
Posted by: on 01/09/2008 at 7:33 a.m.
For the past year I have been waiting for the book, 100 Young Americans, photographed and written by Michael Franzini, to finally come out! This book means more to me than most could imagine as there is no truer tale of teens in America. I made some amazing friends along the way, and have the utmost respect for the people involved. Brett, Mike, Don, Shaun, Ian, and Linus… I KNOW how hard all of you worked on this book, and I appreciate the finished product oh so very much! Thank you for your friendship, and for putting everything you have into this story.
Please visit www.100youngamericans.com and BUY THE BOOK NOW!

"My battle with breast cancer was a battle that I did not fight alone, my family and friends were very supportive and my GOD was with me every step of the way. The greatest thing about having cancer is that my walk with Jesus Christ is so much stronger," -Charlie |
