 When were you diagnosed, what action did you take, where were you treated?
I found a lump in my breast from self examination in 1995. I had a biopsy and surgery within 2 weeks of discovering the lump. I underwent chemotherapy at North Texas Cancer Center in Plano, Texas.
 
What does breast cancer mean to you?
I have greater respect for the medical field and my faith in Jesus Christ has grown stronger.
 
How important is it to you to raise awareness of breast cancer?
This is something that is very important to me. I feel that with all the technology we have, that we can find a cure for breast cancer.
 
Please tell us a little bit about the battle that you fought for breast cancer. What is the best thing that has happened to you because of breast cancer?
My battle with breast cancer was a battle that I did not fight alone, my family and friends were very supportive and my GOD was with me every step of the way. The greatest thing about having cancer is that my walk with Jesus Christ is so much stronger.
 
Please tell us a little bit about where you are in your life now!
The breast cancer has reoccurred, but I know that I will survive because I know the greatest Healer of all and I have the prayers of my friends and family.
 
Is there anyone you would like to thank for helping you along the way?
I give glory to my Savior, Jesus Christ, and my family. My husband Mike, daughters and sons-in-law, Anissa, Greg, Amy, and Brian for the love and support I have from them. All my dear friends and family members for all of their prayers. Of course, my four grandchildren, Allyson, Dean, Michael, and Sealeigh for all the joy they bring me.

John 11:4 That Christ might be glorified through this sickness.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.
